A 92-year-old man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following an incident in Oakridge will face no further action.
Officers were called to a house in Maple Crescent at 3.23am on July 6 to a report of an incident.
They found a woman in her 80s with non-life-threatening injuries and she was taken to Basingstoke hospital.
A 92-year-old man from Basingstoke was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Now Hampshire Constabulary has said the man will face no further action.
A police spokesperson said: “A 92-year-old man from Basingstoke, who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, has been released and will face no further action.
“Officers carried out a thorough investigation into the incident and it was decided that there was insufficient evidence for a realistic prospect of conviction.”
