A WOMAN has been handed a suspended sentence for drink driving following a collision on the M3 at Basingstoke last month.

On July 23, Nikky Gurung, of Bracklesham Close in Farnborough, was involved in a single-vehicle collision on the M3 southbound between junction 5 and 6.

The 31-year-old was charged with driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level was above the limit, and with driving while unfit through drink.

Appearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, August 9, Gurung pleaded guilty to the first charge, while the second was withdrawn.

She was handed a 12 week custodial sentence, suspended for 12 months.

She must also complete 250 hours of unpaid work and 10 rehabilitation activity days, and pay costs of £85 and a £154 surcharge.
