BASINGSTOKE motorists will have seven road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But drivers will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M3, from 9pm December 9 2020 to 6am August 18 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 northbound and southbound, junction 10, slip road closures for M3 Smart Motorways, diversion via local authority and National Highways network.

• A27, from 8pm March 7 to 6am October 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34, A308M, A404, A303, A31, A3M, A3, A27, M4, M27, M271 and M3 whole lengths, mobile lane closures for maintenance works.

And a further five closures will begin over the next seven days:

• A34, from 9.30am August 11 to 3.30pm August 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 northbound and southbound, Tot Hill services to Highclere Common, diversion only for West Berkshire County Council works.

• A303, from 8pm August 11 to 6am August 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 westbound, M3 to Popham services, Lane closure for BT Openreach works.

• M3, from 8pm August 15 to 6am August 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 northbound, lane closure on, junction 7 exit slip road, Lane closure for local authority sign works off network.

• M3, from 8pm August 16 to 6am August 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 northbound and southbound, junction 6, Lane closures for technology work.

• M3, from 8pm August 18 to 6am August 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 southbound, junction 6 to 7, Lane closures for resurfacing.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
