AS a former Conservative Borough Councillor for Winklebury and Manydown I campaigned hard for safer roads and reducing speed limits to 20mph by all the schools in Winklebury.

I presented my 600+ signature petition calling for 20mph speed limits by our schools and prioritising reducing speed limits across Basingstoke to Basingstoke Council, and now Hampshire County Council are asking residents to have their say by taking part in an online survey.

It is so important that everyone across the borough that wants safer roads outside our schools in Basingstoke and across the borough, take time to complete the survey. It should only take 15 minutes to complete, and is a prime opportunity for every resident to shape future policy by telling the County Council our opinions on reducing speed limits and making roads safer for everyone all over Basingstoke and Hampshire too.

The link to the survey which closes at midnight on Monday, September 12. is:hants.gov.uk/transport/transportschemes/20mph-speed-limits-consultation.
