A CAR dealership has been busy partaking in coffee mornings, charity football matches, motor challenges and sponsoring football clubs, all in the name of charity.

Eden Motor Group, a large car dealer group in the south, is continuing to raise thousands for charity and supporting local communities, with over £30,000 raised in the past 12 months, with similar ambitions for the rest of this year.

Eden recently presented a £18,400 cheque to MacMillan Cancer Support, raised from coffee mornings, which will resume on September 30.

The group coffee mornings will be taking place at Eden dealerships in: Banbury, Basingstoke, Bicester, Bracknell, Branksome, Camberley, Christchurch, Exeter, Fareham, Fleet, High Wycombe, Honiton, Newton Abbot, Newbury, Oxford, Reading Vauxhall and Reading Hyundai, Stratford, Swindon, Taunton, Torbay Vauxhall and Torbay Hyundai, and Wokingham.

Eden Motor Group owner Graeme Potts is keen to maintain the support for good causes. The CEO said: “Supporting local groups, causes, and charities is core to our values as a member of the community where our dealerships are based.

“We’re very proud of our colleagues and customers who go the extra mile to support this.”

Colleagues from the car dealership company got involved with a high-profile charity football match. Eden representatives formed part of the ‘Sophie’s All-Stars’ team, raising £25,000 for Sophie’s Journey- a charity which provides free holidays for children suffering with cancer and their families.

Sophie’s All-Stars took home the trophy and challenged Portsmouth Football Club legends like Alan Knight, Todorov, and Linvoy Primus as well as former Manchester United player Owen Hargreaves.

The group has also sponsored numerous football teams within Eden’s local communities, such as Torbay Police FC Youth Team, and Okehampton Argyle Youth Under 9s.

Graeme said: “We know how important it is to provide these teams with a kit that they can play proudly in each week. We are delighted to be able to support, and to have Eden on display on their shirts.”

Most recently was the Beast of BEN – a motor industry challenge in which Eden Colleagues Mike Earle, Russell Catlow, Matt Gill, James Kurd, Stephen Belcher, Kevin Charlton, Matt Lowe, and Matt Strange battled it out against other motor groups in aid of BEN – the motor industry charity that helps people in times of hardship. The three day event put the team’s skill, speed and stamina to the test through activities such as abseiling, water crossing, navigation, hiking and problem solving.

Eden raised surpassed their target, raising over £10,000 so far. To donate or find out more visit: justgiving.com/fundraising/edenben.

The car group also holds a number of VIP events each year where it gives prize money back to its customers. There has been one VIP Event winner already this year – Deborah Lord of Chilton, who bought a new Mazda 3 from Eden’s Basingstoke site and received £10,000.

Eden Motor Group represents seven brands across 24 dealerships in Hampshire, Dorset, Surrey, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire, Buckinghamshire, Worcestershire, Somerset, Devon, and Warwickshire.
