THE famous Red Arrows have cancelled flypast plans that would have seen them fly over Basingstoke.

The flypast was due to see the team pass over areas of Basingstoke on Friday, July 22 as part of the Farnborough Airshow.

During the airshow there have been displays from the Black Eagles, RAF Typhoon jets and Battle of Britain.

Organisers arranged the flypast to mark the end of the event.

Farnborough International Airshow, posted on Facebook to confirm the news.

They said: "We have been informed that due to operational issues, the Red Arrows will not be able to conduct their flypast at Farnborough International Airshow today. We will now be taking off with a spectacular display from the Red Devils parachute team."

The full route of the display team was released online at Military Airshows and they would have flown close to Basingstoke including Whitchurch and Odiham.
