AN EXPLORER and author is set to share his experiences and lessons learnt from his career.

Levison Wood is preparing for his third one-man tour The Art Of Exploration this autumn – inspired by his book of the same name, released last year.

Levison will share experiences and learnings from his travels, his army career and photo-journalism assignments. The tour comes to Basingstoke on October 16 at The Anvil.

Best known for his critically acclaimed documentaries, including Walking The Nile and Walking With Elephants, alongside his books which have followed expeditions in the Himalayas, Arabia and the Americas, Levison is a former army officer who served in Afghanistan. Earlier this year, he spent a week in Ukraine following the invasion by Russian troops to make a special report for Channel 4.

As an explorer Levison has trekked thousands of miles through some of the world’s most testing environments including along the Nile, Himalayas and the Arabian peninsula, and his UK tour will see him reveal the lessons he has learnt on the road.

He said: “The Art Of Exploration presents me with a great opportunity to reveal the life lessons I have learnt and how we can all benefit from applying the philosophy of travel and The Art of Exploration to our normal everyday routines, so we can achieve a positive mindset and get things done.

“We all have our own journeys on which we have to travel - whether that is to the corners of the globe or by balancing day-to-day life. It is a challenge for us all at some point and I hope I can inspire the audience to embark on their own personal journeys.”

The Art Of Exploration is Levison’s third UK tour and along with hearing his fascinating anecdotes and honest experiences, residents will be able to witness first-hand what Levison experienced through photography and footage from his extensive travels.

By sharing his fascinating anecdotes and honest experiences, along with photography and footage from his extensive travels, Levison hopes to inspire the audience to embark on their own journeys – whether through travel or day-to-day life.
