A HOOK man has been handed a fine after he attended an illegal gathering in Cardiff during a period of coronavirus restrictions.

Mohammed Bilal Iqbal, of Great Marlow, attended the gathering in the Cathays area of the Welsh capital on February 26, 2021, when Wales' Tier 4 status prohibited private meetings of its kind.

At Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on Thursday, July 7, the 22-year-old was fined £26, plus a surcharge of £34, making a total of £60.
