A Basingstoke man has been remanded in custody after he was charged with attempted murder, arson with recklessness and wounding with intent.

Kyle Butler, 28, from Cannon Close, Ellisfield, was remanded in police custody after he was charged in the attempted murder incident in Butler Close, Basingstoke on June 24.

He was produced before the Basingstoke Magistrate’s Court this morning (Thursday, June 30).

He is due to appear at Winchester Crown Court on Wednesday, August 3.

Officers are investigating the case after they were called to an address on Butler Close at 6.34am on Friday 24 June and found a woman in her 20s with non-life threatening injuries.

The property had been set on fire but this was quickly put out.

One officer sustained an injury to his hand and several others were treated for smoke inhalation following the incident.
