MORE than 20 cannabis plants have been located in woodlands in Basingstoke.

They were discovered following a report made to Hampshire Police regarding a possible cannabis factory.

Officers attended woodlands off Basing Road in Old Basing and located three cannabis plants in pots as well as a number of black sacks with more plants inside.

Basingstoke cops posted on Facebook: “If you go down in the woods today you're sure of a big surprise.

“Following a report regarding a possible cannabis factory, PCSO's from the Basingstoke Town Neighbourhood Team attended some woodlands off Basing Road, Old Basing and located three cannabis plants in pots and a number of black sacks with cannabis plants inside. Approximately 25 plants were seized in total and will now be destroyed.”
