BASINGSTOKE and Deane's motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But drivers will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M3, from 8pm June 24 to 6am June 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 northbound and southbound, junction 8 to 9, Lane closures for barrier works.

• A27, from 8pm March 7 to 6am October 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34, A308M, A404, A303, A31, A3M, A3, A27, M4, M27, M271 and M3 whole lengths, mobile lane closures for maintenance works.

And a further three closures will begin over the next seven days:

• A303, from 8pm July 1 to 6am July 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 eastbound and westbound, Micheldever to M3, Lane closures for barrier works.

• A303, from 8pm July 7 to 6am July 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 eastbound and westbound, Overton to Barton Stacey, Lane closures for barrier works.

• A303, from 8pm July 11 to 6am July 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 Waltham Trinley A34/A343 Andover Road, diversion Route for off network closure of A339 Ringway North for Hampshire County Council.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
