A WOMAN has reported that she was sexually assaulted in an alleyway in Basingstoke.
Officers are carrying out enquiries following a report of a serious sexual assault on a woman in Castons Walk.
The incident was reported to police at 5.38am on Sunday (June 12). It was reported that the woman was assaulted earlier that morning.
A police spokesperson said that the woman is being supported by specialist officers.
They continued: “We are in the very early stages of the investigation and are trying to establish the exact circumstances of what happened.
“As part of our enquiries, a section of Castons Walk was sectioned off but this has since been lifted.”
