Portsmouth Estates has submitted applications to build 18 dwellings in Cliddesden.

The land owner has submitted two applications for planning in principle for piecemeal housing developments on land south of Woods Lane and land to rear of Manor Farm in Farleigh Road – both in Cliddesden.

The two applications are for nine dwellings each.

Both sites lie outside any settlement or employment boundary as designated by the Local Plan and is therefore considered to fall within open countryside for planning policy purposes.

The Woods Lane site does not fall within a Conservation Area though is located approximately 180 metres from the western boundary of the Cliddesden Conservation Area.

Some of the site rear of Manor Farm falls within the Cliddesden Conservation Area boundary.

Nearby listed buildings include Manor Farm House (Grade II listed) which is located to the north of the proposed access road and approximately 100 metres to the west of the main part of the site.

The Grade II listed Rectory Row properties (4, 5, 6 Farleigh Road) are located approximately 100 metres to the north-west of the main part of the site.

St. Leonard’s Church (approximately 200 metres to the north) is also Grade II listed.

If you wish to make any comments about the applications, you can write to the Planning Officer: katherine.fitzherbert-green@basingstoke.gov.uk quoting the Planning in Principle reference numbers 22/01551/PIP for Land South Of Woods Lane, Cliddesden, and 22/01550/PIP for Land To Rear Of Manor Farm, Farleigh Road, Cliddesden.
