A VAN driver who was stopped by police in Basingstoke for not wearing a seatbelt was found to be drug driving with his seven-year-old son in the vehicle.

On Friday (June 3), officers stopped a vehicle on the A33 at Basingstoke because the driver wasn't wearing a seatbelt. 

However, they then proceeded to carry out a positve drugs wipe for cocaine and cannabis, as well as finding hun to be in possession of a knife and drugs.

The driver also had his seven-year-old son in the vehicle at the time. 

Posting an incident report to Twitter, Hampshire Roads Policing Unit described the behaviour as "disgraceful".
