THOUSANDS of residents across Basingstoke and Deane are tomorrow beginning four days of celebrations to mark the momentous occasion of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Streets across the borough have been adorned with red, white and blue flags ahead of neighbours getting together to celebrate this ‘once in a generation event’.

Tomorrow night beacons will be lit in recognition of the Queen’s service, as has been the tradition during previous jubilees.

People are invited to come together with the wider community on Sunday for The Big Platinum Jubilee Picnic in War Memorial Park. There will be plenty of free activities and entertainment.
