A BASINGSTOKE man has been fined hundreds of pounds after he was caught driving 40mph over the speed limit.

On August 14 2021, Spencer White, of West Ham Close, was driving a Ducati Panigale vehicle along Churchill Way West at 90mph. The speed limit is 50mph.

At Aldershot Magistrates’ Court on May 16, the 55-year-old was handed a £700 fine, and disqualified from driving for two months.

He must also pay costs of £90 and a £70 surcharge.

A BASINGSTOKE woman has admitted to stealing alcohol from a supermarket in the town.

On January 5 2022, Emma Quinn of Attwood Close stole a £40 bottle of vodka from Sainsburys.

The 40-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on May 16 and was handed a £40 fine.

She must also pay costs of £40 and a £34 surcharge, making a total of £114.

A BASINGSTOKE man has been handed a fine after being caught speeding on a dual carriageway in Cornwall.

Neil Robert Egginton, of Rectory Row, Cliddesden, was driving a Rangerover at more than 70mph on the A30 at Dunheved Bridge, Cornwall on October 10 2021.

On May 16 2022, at Bodmin Magistrates’ Court, the 56-year-old was fined £40, and ordered to pay costs of £90 and a £34 surcharge.

His driving record was also endorsed with three penalty points.

A BMW driver from Tadley has been forced to pay more than £500 after admitting to drink driving in Basingstoke.

On May 1 2022, William Carwardine-Evans, of The Den, Tadley, drove a BMW 520 along Aldermaston Road with 52 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of his breath.

The limit is 35.

At Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on May 17, the 30-year-old admitted to the offence and was handed a £461 fine.

He was also disqualified from driving for 12 months and ordered to pay costs of £85, and a £46 surcharge.

A WHITCHURCH man has been fined after failing to comply with a drugs test in the town earlier this month.

On May 1 2022, Max Fuoco, of Newbury Street failed without reasonable excuse to comply with a drug wipe in Whitchurch.

The 32-year-old initially pleaded not guilty, but changed his plea to guilty at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on May 17.

He was handed a £108 fine, and his driving record endorsed with four penalty points.

Fuoco must also pay costs of £40 and a £34 surcharge.

A MOTORVAN driver from Basingstoke has been fined after speeding along a major road in Cornwall.

On October 8 2021, on the A30 Tregullon Dip in Bodmin, Cornwall, Thomas Elliot Lane of Heritage Park, Basingstoke, drove a Ford Transit at more than 60mph.

On May 17 at Bodmin Magistrates’ Court, the 31-year-old was handed a £66 fine, as well as costs of £90 and a £34 surcharge.

His driving record was also endorsed with three penalty points.

A BASINGSTOKE company has been forced to pay more than £1,000 after failing to assist police with driver identification.

MPW Couriers Limited of Bedstone Road were asked, on August 24 2021 in Fareham, to provide the Chief Officer of Police with the identity of a Ford Transit driver.

The driver was thought to have committed a crime.

They failed to do so.

The case was proved in their absence at Aldershot Magistrates’ Court on May 23.

The company was handed a £1000 fine, plus costs of £110 and a £100 surcharge.

A WOMAN from Hook was fined after speeding in Farnborough.

Sally Ware, of Canal Close, North Warnborough, was travelling in a Citreon vehicle on Sandy Lane on July 6 2021 at 36mph.

The limit is 30mph.

The 77-year-old was handed a £66 fine at Aldershot magistrates’ Court on May 23.

She must also pay a £34 surcharge.

Her driving record was endorsed with three penalty points.
