THE rail line between Basingstone and Winchester is blocked this evening (Monday, May 23) due to a broken down freight train.
Train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised South Western Railway has said.
Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
A SWR spokesperson said: "We have been informed that a freight train has developed a fault between Basingstoke and Winchester. This means that the line towards Winchester is blocked.
"For further information or onward travel advice please speak to a member of staff or use a station help point.
"We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey."
