A MAN has been fined for dangerous driving without insurance along a country road in Basingstoke and Deane borough.

On December 1, 2019, Angus Robert Campbell, of Pelican Lane, Newbury, was driving a Ford vehicle on the A339 Kingsclere Road at Ramsdell, “without due care or attention”.

He was also found not to have a relevant insurance policy in place.

Appearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on May 5, 2022, the 58-year-old pleaded guilty to the offences and was fined a total of £200.

He must also pay costs of £25 and a £30 surcharge.

Campbell was additionally disqualified from driving for a six-month period and had his licence endorsed with six penalty points.

A MAN from Hartley Wintney has been forced to pay more than £800 after failing to provide information to police about a BMW driver accused of an offence.

On March 3, 2021, Mariglen Lamellari of Mitchell Avenue, failed to give information regarding the identification of the BMW driver in Hook, who was thought to have been involved in a crime, when required to by the Chief Officer of Police for Hampshire.

The 29-year-old pleaded not guilty on November 22, 2021.

However, he was proved guilty in his absence at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on May 5, 2022.

Lamellari was handed a £692 fine.

In addition, he must pay costs of £90 and a surcharge of £69.

He was additionally disqualified from driving for a six-month period and had his licence endorsed with six penalty points.

A MAN will stand trial after denying the assault of a woman in Basingstoke last year.

Jack Coogan, of Knowlton Road, Poole, is accused of assaulting the woman by beating her in the town on October 4, 2021.

At Basingstoke Magistrates Court on May 5, 2022, the 20-year-old pleaded not guilty.

He will stand trial at the same court on October 24, 2022.

A BASINGSTOKE woman has admitted to a homophobic assault in the town last year.

On November 10, 2021, Tracey Donnelly, of May Place, assaulted a woman by beating her.

Admitting to the offence at Aldershot Magistrates’ Court on May 4, 2022, the 47-year-old was ordered to pay costs of £70.

This was an “uplifted” amount due to “homophobic language used” and the fact the incident was “aggravated by sexual orientation”.

Donnelly further admitted to stealing a £79 coat from Marks and Spencer in Basingstoke on the same day, as well as to assaulting a man by beating him on October 29, 2021.

She was ordered to pay an additional £50 in compensation and was fined £40 for the theft.

A BRAMLEY man has been ordered to complete unpaid work after breaching his sexual harm prevention order (SHPO).

On November 10, 2021, Kyle Ayres, of Longbridge Road, Bramley, was found in possession of five devices capable of storing digital images, including three Samsung phones.

He did not make them available for police inspection on request.

This was a breach of his SHPO put in place in December 2020.

The 19-year-old was handed a community sentence at Aldershot Magistrates’ Court on may 4.

He must complete 80 hours of unpaid work and 60 rehabilitation activity days.

He was also ordered to pay costs of £40.

A TADLEY man has been fined more than £600 after failing to stop following a road accident in Basingstoke.

Oliver Visscher, of Heather Drive, Tadley, was driving on Aldermaston Road on December 3, 2021 when an accident occurred and damage was caused to another vehicle.

The 43-year-old failed to stop or to give his details to the other driver.

Pleading guilty at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on May 5, 2022, he was handed a fine of £623 and his licence was endorsed with seven penalty points.

He must also pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £62.
