A MAN has been arrested after a teenager was sexually assaulted at Basingtoke bus station.
Hampshire police requested help from the public with identifying a man who they believed held vital information relating to the sexual assault that took place at Basingstoke bus station on Saturday afternoon (April 23).
Enquires have led the man being identified and detained. A 48-year-old man from Hook has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault. He remains in custody at this time.
A spokesperson from Hampshire police said: "We are still keen to hear from anybody who may have witnessed the incident and for them to come forward with any information they might have.
"If anyone has any information that could help the investigation, call 101 quoting the reference number 44220159014.
"We take every report of sexual violence seriously and would urge anyone who is concerned, or has been a victim, to call us via 101 or 999 in an emergency, so that we can take action."
