FOLLOW the Yellow Brick Road to The Anvil and enjoy the easter panto in Basingstoke.

Residents are invited to join in the fun as Enchanted Entertainment present a wonderful pantomime version of L. Frank Baum’s much-loved fairy tale The Wizard of Oz on Thursday April, 21 at 2pm and 6pm.

Starring comedian and former Dancing on Ice contestant Bobby Davro as Scarecrow, and The X-Factor and Celebrity Big Brother favourite Stevi Ritchie as Tin Man, the show is packed with brilliant dance routines, well known pop songs, lots of audience participation and plenty of laughter for all the family.

Join Kansas farm-girl Dorothy and her pet dog Toto on this magical adventure. Watch in amazement as they are picked up by a tornado and carried off to the magical Land of Oz. With help from their new friends the Munchkins, they travel to the Emerald City where the great Wizard of Oz lives.

On their way they meet a Scarecrow who needs a brain, a Tin Man who wants a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who desperately needs courage. Will the wonderful Wizard of Oz be able to help them before the Wicked Witch of the West captures them in her dungeon?

Jezz Weatherall, producer of the show, said: “We’re really looking forward to touring during the Easter holidays with this fantastic show. It’s got a great cast of TV stars as well as a spectacular team of professional actors, singers and dancers. We know how popular our Easter pantomimes have been in previous years and we’re so pleased to be back on the road again after a two year wait”.

The Wizard of Oz is famous for its musical selections and soundtrack. Its songs were composed by Harold Arlen, with lyrics by Yip Harburg. They won the Academy Award for Best Original Song for "Over the Rainbow".
