BASINGSTOKE and District Cats Protection has launched a desperate appeal to find Mischief the cat a special home.

The black and white furry friend was given up for adoption after owner sadly had to go into care. She has lived with her elderly owner since she was a kitten and is used to a quiet home as an only pet.

Staff at the charity say that the 11-year-old cat cannot be handled and has always been very timid.

They have said: “She is really unhappy and angry in her cat cabin, as you can see from her photo, and we are looking for an experienced cat owner to give her a chance.

“She is used to having a cat flap so she can come and go as she pleases, and she is looking for someone who will give her her own space, and who won't be upset if she decides she'd rather spend her time outdoors and just use you as bed and board. Alternatively, a stables or farm where she will have shelter and be fed regularly and be able to do her own thing.”

Mischief cannot live with other cats or dogs. The charity also says that a mature family is suitable.
