Fran Gathercole, one of the owners, said: “We were watching the news and decided to put 10 per cent of our profits to Ukraine. It’s unbelievably sad in this day and age that this is going on. It’s devastating.”
The bar has so far raised more than £1,000.
Fran said the bar will also light up in the colours of the Ukrainian flag – blue and yellow – every few nights using lights donated by company TSL.
She added: “Our customers think it’s lovely and happily give us more in donations. We have had a lot of well wishes.”
Fran said that she is also considering taking in a Ukrainian refugee, adding: “If anyone came here, we would happily home them. We were talking about it yesterday and just want to do what we can.”
