A VILLAGE pub is reopening this Friday with new landlords.

The Jolly Farmer in Cliddesden has been shut for a few days while it changes hands, with outgoing landlord Fred Hurn saying goodbye to his customers last week.

Fred, who took over the pub in November 2019, said it was “probably a good time [to leave] after the two years we’ve had”.

He explained that the brewery which owns the pub had decided to change the way it is run to a managed site, so he decided the time was right to leave.

The new landlords, Dan and Emma, are re-opening the Jolly Farmer on March 18 at 12pm, and will launch a new menu.

The pair also plan to open a community coffee and cake shop from Tuesdays to Saturdays between 9.30am and 12pm, starting on March 22.

They urged regulars to “pop in and say hello”, adding: “Look forward to meeting you all.”
