Four crews from Basingstoke and Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Services were mobilised this morning to a fire at a residential property in Tadley.

Fortunately, the incident in Heather Drive in Tadley was under control by the time the firefighters arrived at the scene.

Earlier, Basingstoke RDS twitter account posted that four teams of firefighters were mobilised following the incident in Tadley.

According to a spokesperson for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Services, the initial caller, who called the firefighters at 7.33am, reported that there was a bang, smoke spotted and an alarm sounding.

The small fire within a fluorescent light fitting was out on arrival, with firefighters investigating and making the scene safe before returning to station at 8.04 am.
