AIDAN Doughty scored his first ever Basingstoke Bison hat-trick as they beat the Bees 5-2 last Saturday.

This was after the visitors opened the scoring after 68 seconds from James Galazzi.

The Bison levelled after a great rush down the right wing by George Norcliffe, who saw his cross converted by Doughty.

The home side then took the lead thanks to Adam Harding from a pass from netminder Alex Mettam which was his first assist of the season.

The lead would have been bigger at the first break, if not for two great saves by Adam Goss to deny both Ryan Sutton and Alex Roberts one-on-one.

Just 23 seconds into the second session, the Bison made it 3-1 as Roberts fired in from the right wing.

The Bees pulled a goal back from Juha Lindgren, but a powerplay strike from Doughty restored the two goal advantage.

The Bison then hit the crossbar from Roberts and the post through Paul Petts, before the second buzzer.

The only goal of the final session came in the last two minutes as Doughty notched his treble.

The following night, the Bison recorded their first win of the campaign in Peterborough with an excellent 4-2 victory.

The home side scored the only goal of the first period from Callum Buglass.

Two goals in the space of 72 seconds from Zack Milton and Harding assisted by Cain Russell for his first Bison point, put the Herd ahead, but Petr Stepanek tied the game at the second break.

A Doughty strike gave the Bison the lead again at 46:01 and Milton hit the empty net to complete the scoring.

Last Wednesday, the Bison lost 5-1 to the visiting Milton Keynes Lightning, as Doughty scored the Herd’s only goal.

Last Sunday, the under-12 Bison won 3-1 in Cardiff thanks to goals from Aiden Lamey, Ethan Hills and Reggie Howe.
