A MOTORIST has been fined £800 for driving without a licence and insurance.

Ethan Gray, 23, was spotted on the A34 southbound at Whitchurch driving a Volkswagen Polo on May 11, last year.

Gray, from Coventry, admitted to the offences during a magistrates court hearing.

He was also hit with eight points on his licence and must pay an £80 victim surcharge.

A BASINGSTOKE man will stand trial later this year accused of drink driving.

Max Antonowicz, of Timberlake Road, was allegedly stopped on New Road driving a Lexus while over the drink drive limit on July 24.

He is charged with having 71 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit is 35.

The 37-year-old pleaded not guilty to the offence and will stand trial on August 1.

Antonowicz has admitted to failing to give information on his insurance to police on July 24, last year, and assault by beating on the same day.

A 19-YEAR-OLD woman will be sentenced next month after she was found with Class A drugs in Basingstoke.

Stephanie Cornelio, of Enfield, Greater London, was found with heroin and crack cocaine on January 5, last year.

The court was told that she had 7.04 grams of crack cocaine in her possession.

Cornelio will appear at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on March 21 when she will be sentenced.

MAGISTRATES have disqualified a man who was caught drink driving in Tadley.

George Taylor, 27 and of The Green, Brightwalton, was stopped driving an Audi on the B3051 on January 26, this year.

He was found to have 83 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit is 35.

Taylor admitted the offence during a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court.

He was disqualified from driving for 20 months and fined £323. He must also pay £85 court costs and a £34 victim surcharge.

AN ANDOVER man will be go before a judge accused of attacking a mental health practitioner in Basingstoke.

James Chandler, of Rack Close, is alleged to have assaulted senior mental health practitioner Oscar Karumazondo at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital on February 13.

The 41-year-old appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court where the case was sent to Winchester Crown Court.

Chandler was remanded in custody following the hearing.

AN ALLEGED dangerous driver is accused of causing serious injury to a woman in Basingstoke.

Roger Parsons, 41, is said to have driven without due care and attention causing serious injury to Vivien White by dangerous driving in a Renault Clio on Churchill Way West on February 26, last year.

Parsons, of Carmarthen Close, Farnborough, will now go before Winchester Crown Court on March 16.

A 30-year-old who was caught on the M3 at Basingstoke while over the drug drive limit has been disqualified.

Daniel Hobson was stopped on the motorway on August 21, last year, while he had not less than 5ug/L of Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in his blood – the legal limit is two.

During a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court, Hobson, of Chipping Norton, pleaded guilty to the offence.

Magistrates banned him from driving for 12 months and fined him £550. He must also pay £85 court costs and a £55 victim surcharge.
