THE Basingstoke Bison turned on a goal scoring master class last Saturday, as they won in Milton Keynes 8-4, writes Graham Merry.

This was despite Bobby Chamberlain giving the home side the lead.

The Bison replied three minutes later thanks to an excellent back hand finish from Ashley Tait.

The visitors then took control of the match with two goals in the space of 22 seconds.

The first came from Brendan Baird with a lovely finish and then Liam Morris at the back post made it 3-1 at the first break.

The second session saw the Herd again score two goals in quick succession from Zack Milton and Alex Roberts.

Exactly a minute later, Leigh Jamieson pulled a goal back, but Roberts with a powerplay strike made it 6-2 at the second buzzer.

The final session saw MK net first from Morgan Pizzo-Clarke, but any hopes of a comeback were ended as Roberts completed his hat-trick with a shorthanded marker.

The sides then swapped goals in the final two minutes from the Bison’s Harding and Sam Russell with his first ever MK goal.

On Sunday night, the Herd were beaten 4-1 at home by the Leeds Knights.

The league’s leading points scorer Kieran Brown had a hand in every goal as he finished with 2+2, while Adam Barnes and Matt Davies were also on target.

The lone Bison goal came from George Norcliffe, while Ollie Stone was the Herd’s man of the match

The table topping under-14 Bison made it 11 wins out of 11 as they beat visiting Haringey last Saturday 12-0.

Ellis Austin and Leo Battarbee both helped themselves to four goals each, Lelio Bellamy returned 2+2 and there were single strikes from Daniel Bird and Charles Gaskin.
