Police are looking for witnesses after a crash that happened in Basingstoke which has left a woman in hospital with life threatening injuries.

A grey Toyota Rav4 and the female pedestrian collided on Winchester Road, Basingstoke at around 3.30pm on Friday, February 18.

The 49-year-old had been going across the road at the pelican crossing east of the Kempshott roundabout before the collision. She was taken to Southampton General Hospital with life threatening head injuries.

A police spokesperson said: “We're now asking for any witnesses who haven't spoken to us already to get in touch. We'd also like to hear from anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident or the moment leading up to it.

“Anyone with information is asked to Sgt Jon Bates at the Serious Crash Investigation Unit on 101 quoting Operation Atlantic.”
