THOUSANDS of homes have been left without power as Storm Eunice hits Basingstoke.

Scottish and Southern Electricity (SSE) Networks has confirmed there are power outages in RG23, RG24 and RG25 areas in Basingstoke.

Following are the reported cases of power outages near Basingstoke according to the SSE website.

RG24: Near Rooksdown - Reported at 10.26am, Friday. Expected restoration at 2pm, Friday.

RG24: Near Old Basing - Reported at 10.34am, Friday. Expected restoration at 11pm, Saturday.

RG25: Near Southrope - Reported at 11.51am, Friday. Expected restoration at 11pm, Saturday.

RG26: Near Inhurst - Reporterd at 10.05am, Friday. Expected restoration at 11pm, Saturday.

RG26: Near Ashford Hill - Reporterd at 11.38am, Friday. Expected restoration unknown.

RG25s and RG28s: Near Laverstoke - Reported at 10.19am, Friday. Expected restoration at 11pm, Saturday.

RG28: Near Whitchurch - Reported at 11.37am, Friday. Expected restoration at 11pm, Saturday.

According to a statement on SSEN website, its workforce has been mobilised to restore the power.

“Storm Eunice is currently and continues to cause significant impact to the electricity network and our customer's supplies. Due to this we currently cannot guarantee electricity supplies will be restored soon.

“Our workforce, which was enhanced in preparation for the storm, has been mobilised and we're working hard to restore customer supplies as quickly and safely as possible.

“The first priority will be to get the power restores to as many homes as possible by altering our network around the damage - this may mean you power is restored sooner than stated on this fault. Updateds for this job will be provided when accurate information is received from colleagues in the field.”
