A BASINGSTOKE thief who stole perfume from a shop in Festival Place on a number of occasions last year has been sentenced.

Andrew Buller, of May Place, took perfume from TK Maxx on dates between September 19 and November 11, last year.

On one day, October 29, he stole Ralph Lauren Perfume worth £16.99. The value of the perfume on the other days was not known.

The 50-year-old appeared at the magistrates court where he pleaded guilty to the offences in Basingstoke.

He also admitted to stealing perfume from Boots in Eastbourne. On April 21 he stole a bottle of Ted Baker Sweet Treat worth £18 and the day before he took four bottles of Noa Eau De Toillette valued at £160, another bottle of Ted Baker Sweet Treat, and a bottle of Cacharel Loulou worth £41. He was ordered to pay compensation to the store of £237.

Magistrates ordered Buller to undergo drug rehabilitation, in which he must provide samples every month for nine months.

No compensation was ordered to TK Maxx as it was not clear whether the items were recovered or there was no loss or damage.

TWO men have been handed suspended sentences after they admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour in Whitchurch.

Jason Modely, of Chertsey, Surrey, changed his plea to guilty on the first day of his trial at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court.

The 37-year-old admitted to two charges both of which occurred to November 29, last year, with intent to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

Two other charges of threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause those persons to believe that immediate unlawful violence would be used against them by any person, or to provoke the immediate use of unlawful violence were dismissed after no evidence was offered.

Jason Modely was given a three-month suspended sentence for 12 months as the case was committed against people in their workplace. He must also pay £128 victim surcharge.

The same charge was also dismissed against Krishna Modely, also of Chertsey, in Surrey.

The 34-year-old admitted to using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour in Whitchurch on November 29.

He was handed a three-month prison sentence suspended for 12 months. He must also pay £85 court costs and a £128 victim surcharge.

A KINGSCLERE man who was caught behind the wheel over the drug drive limit has been disqualified.

Gregory Price, of St Mary’s Road, was stopped on Mulfords Hill, Tadley, on February 2, last year, when over the limit for Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

The 36-year-old was found to have greater than 7ug/L per litre of blood – the legal limit is two.

He appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court when he pleaded guilty to the offence.

Magistrates banned Price from driving for 12 months. He must also pay £620 court costs and a £34 victim surcharge.

AN ODIHAM woman has been placed on a curfew after she admitted assaulting a man.

Amber Daly, 26 and of Tinley Gardens, admitted to assaulting Paul Horsfall on June 5, last year. She also pleaded guilty to damaging a window belonging to Vivid Housing on the same day.

Magistrates order Daly to undergo 15 rehabilitation days in the next 12 months. She was also made subject of a curfew for three months, in which she must remain at her home address between 8pm and 6am Thursday to Sunday.

Daly must also pay £135 compensation to Vivid Housing.

A MAN will go on trial later this year accused of using violence to gain entry into a premises in Basingstoke.

Simon Brown allegedly used violence on December 7 to enter an address in Moorfoot Gardens knowing that there was someone present on those premises who was opposed to the said entry.

The 35-year-old, of South View, Bournemouth, pleaded not guilty to the offence during a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court.

The case was adjourned for a trial to take place on July 18.

A BASINGSTOKE man will go on trial accused of assault and criminal damage.

Bobby Lawrence, whose address was given as care of Winchester Road, denied assault occasioning actual bodily harm of Wayne Wrightson on November 8, last year.

The 20-year-old also denied damaging a front door belonging to Mr Wrightson on the same day.

Magistrates adjourned the case for a trial to take place on July 11, this year.

Lawrence was given conditional bail following the hearing.
