NETMINDER Jordan Lawday was just 63 seconds away from recording his first ever shut out for the Basingstoke Bison as they beat the Leeds Knights 5-1, writes Graham Merry.

The Herd got off to a great start in Yorkshire as they led 2-0 at the first buzzer thanks to Alex Sampford and Alex Roberts.

The Bison doubled their advantage by the 40 minute mark as George Norcliffe and Roberts with his second of the game made it 4-0.

Zack Milton added goal number five which saw Adam Harding pick up his fourth assist of the game.

Cole Shudra finally beat Herd man of the match Jordan Lawday at 58:57 to complete the 5-1 scoreline.

Last Friday, the Herd were beaten 5-3 in Swindon, by the Wildcats.

George Norcliffe, Hallam Wilson and Ashley Tait were on target for the visitors.

Balint Pakozdi led the Swindon scoring with a brace, with Sam Godfrey, Aaron Nell and Emil Svec also hitting the net.

Last Saturday, the under-14 Bison won a thrilling top of the table clash against visiting Cardiff 2-1.

The young Herd made it nine wins out of nine as they came from behind to beat their Welsh rivals thanks to goals from Ethan Wiltshire and Daniel Bird.

The under-12 Bison maintained their second spot as they won

9-1 at Solent.

Ethan Hills led the way with four goals, Avery Barnes grabbed a brace and there were single strikes for Aiden Lamey, Ethan Reardon and Oliver Hagedorn.

Meanwhile in Essex, the under-18 Bison lost 3-2 at Chelmsford as Marcus Bradley scored both their goals.
