A LARGE quantity of cash was found alongside suspected Class A and Class B at an address in Basingstoke.

Hampshire Police found the items after executing a warrant at an address in Woolford Way today (January 31) in relation to an ongoing drugs investigation.

Electronic devices were also seized from the property.

Hampshire Police made two arrests including:

  • A 29-year-old woman, from Basingstoke, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class A drug. She was also arrested on suspicion of money laundering and possession of a controlled drug of class B.
  • A 23-year-old man, from Reading, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class A drug.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Police, said: “Officers have made two arrests after executing a warrant in Basingstoke in relation to an ongoing drugs investigation.

“The warrant was executed this morning (31 January) at an address in Woolford Way.

“A large quantity of cash was found, along with suspected class A and class B drugs.

“Electronic devices were also seized from the property.

“A 29-year-old woman, from Basingstoke, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class A drug.

“She was also arrested on suspicion of money laundering and possession of a controlled drug of class B.

“A 23-year-old man, from Reading, was also arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class A drug.

"They both remain in police custody and our enquiries are ongoing.

“We would like to thank the local residents for their patience as we completed our enquiries this morning.”
