A WARRANT has been issued for a man accused of driving without a licence and insurance in Old Basing.

Charlie Trevor Downham, 31, was allegedly stopped on Byfleet Avenue on December 26, last year, driving a silver Suzuki.

A BASINGSTOKE woman has been given more time to pay a fine imposed in June 2020.

Helen Louise O’Meara, of Cordale Road, appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court.

The 34-year-old had not paid £811 of a fine imposed. Magistrates remitted £660 from the fine.

MAGISTRATES have jailed a Basingstoke woman for failing to comply with court orders.

Tracey Joanne Donnelly, 47 and of May Place, failed to attend appointments with her supervisor on three dates last year following her release from prison and failed to comply with the requirements of a community order made on November 12, last year.

She was jailed for six weeks after the sentence handed in November out for the original offence of assault was activated.

A BASINGSTOKE man will stand trial in March accused of beating another man in Sainsbury’s car park.

Matt Kaleb Donaldson, 29, will go on trial at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on March 4. He is accused of assaulting a man on May 2, 2020.

He has been given unconditional bail.

A HOOK man has been made subject of registration requirements for possessing more than 3,000 indecent images of children.

Mark Hope, of Bow Field, possessed 3,075 Category C indecent images of children between May 1, 2020, and July 10, 2020. He appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court where he pleaded guilty to the offence.

The 36-year-old is required to be on the register for five years. He must also complete 40 rehabilitation days.

He must also pay £85 court costs and a £95 victim surcharge.

A 36-YEAR-old who drove while over the alcohol limit has been banned from driving for 15 months.

Krishad Thapa was stopped on the A339 at Kingsclere on January 1. A breath test was carried out and it was discovered he had 51 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit is 35.

He appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court where he pleaded guilty to the offence.

Magistrates also fined Thapa, of Cavendish Road, Aldershot, £319. He must also pay £85 court costs and a £34 victim surcharge.

A WARRANT has been issued for the arrest of a Basingstoke man accused of causing harm to a dog.

Mark Daniels, 46, allegedly failed to seek veterinary care for the arthritic condition of a German Shepherd dog named Beauty, between April 7 and May 7, 2021.

The charge, put forward on behalf of informant animal charity Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA), states that the 46-year-old “knew or ought reasonably to have known that failure to act would have that effect”.

At Basingstoke Magistrates Court, a warrant was issued for Daniel’s arrest. His address was given as care of Norn Hill, Oakridge.

A BASINGSTOKE man has been told to abstain from alcohol for more than 100 days by magistrates.

Marc Vine, 33 and of Melrose Walk, Popley, was made subject of an alcohol abstinence requirement for 120 days after he admitted to three offences.

On December 30 he caused a man to fear harassment, alarm or distress, by using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour. He also assaulted a police officer and resisted another officer who was assisting a constable in the execution of his duty. All the offences took place in Old Common Road.

He must also undergo rehabilitation for 15 days, along with paying a £95 victim surcharge and £40 court costs.
