A vital hospice nursing care has been boosted by a Christmas fundraising event at Festival Place in Basingstoke.

St Michael’s Hospice in Basingstoke has received £1,169.94 raised at the Happy Wrappy gift wrapping service at the Festival Mall throughout December.

The Happy Wrappy is an annual service offered at the Festival Place in every December to help customers who shop at the mall get Christmas gifts all wrapped up in return for a small donation to St. Michael’s Hospice.

For this Christmas, customers made donations to have their purchases gift-wrapped, raising a total of £1,169.94.

Community fundraising co-ordinator Eleanor Bell said: “It was so lovely to be able to offer our fundraising wrapping service once again and to see so many people getting into the festive spirit.

“The fantastic total raised from this year’s Happy Wrappy will make such an important difference to the Hospice. We are incredibly thankful to Festival Place for providing us with a fantastic setting for Happy Wrappy, and to everyone who stopped by to see us.”

Events and community manager Sian Fisher said: “We were delighted to support our fantastic local hospice once again.

“The Happy Wrappy service is a much-loved part of our Christmas events at Festival Place and is always very popular with our customers.”

Festival Place’s charity of the year for the last four years, St Michael’s Hospice provides care to people affected by life-limiting illness.
