A BASINGSTOKE man charged with murder after a man died in Popley has appeared in court.
Police were called around 10.45pm on Wednesday 19 January, following a report of a 22-year-old man having been found with a serious injury in Abbey Road, near the junction with Popley Way.
He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. His family are being supported.

Jordan Graham Clarke, 25, no fixed abode, has been charged with murder.
He appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court this morning (Monday, January 24), speaking only to confirm his name, age and address.
His address was stated in court as no fixed abode.
The case has been sent to Winchester Crown Court, with the first hearing to take place tomorrow, Tuesday January 25.
Mr Clarke will be remanded in custody.
Two other men, both 19-years-old and from Basingstoke, were arrested on suspicion of robbery as part of the enquiries but have since been bailed.
