A MAN in his 40s sustained head injuries after reports of an alleged assault at a bar in Basingstoke, according to Hampshire Police.

Hampshire police who were patrolling the area and were approached at 1.54am on Saturday, December 18 2021 regarding an alleged assault that had taken place at Plush Bar on Wote Street in Basingstoke.

Officers attended the scene and located a man in his 40s who had head injuries. The man attended hospital for treatment but was later discharged.

A spokesperson from Hampshire Police, said: “Officers investigating an assault in Basingstoke are appealing to the public for information.

​“Patrolling officers were approached at 1.54am on Saturday 18 December regarding an assault that had taken place at Plush Bar on Wote Street.

​“Officers attended and located a man in his 40s with head injuries. He attended hospital for treatment and was later discharged.

​“We have been following a number of lines of enquiry to determine the circumstances of this incident and now have these images to release to the public of a man we would like to speak to in connection with the incident, seen in the area at the time.

​“We appreciate the images are not of the best quality, but they're all we have available at this time. We will update you if we get any further, clearer images.

​“The man is described as wearing a distinctive jacket with a ‘T’ logo on the front and back of the jacket.

Police are appealing for information to locate the man in the photo who can be seen wearing a distinctive jacket with a ‘T’ logo on the front and back.
