A BUILDER has postponed a public consultation for proposals for 186 new homes to the north-east of Basingstoke.

Miller Homes said their face-to-face public consultation for the proposed development at land at Sherfield Hill Farm has been cancelled and will now be held online.

The original meeting was scheduled to be held on December 14.

The online consultation will be held 2pm on Tuesday, January 11, and 6.30pm on Thursday, January 13.

A spokesperson for Miller Homes said: "Given that the situation COVID-19 is still very much in flux, Miller Homes are now proposing two virtual presentations instead of a face to face exhibition.”

According to Miller Homes, the proposed development would deliver a sustainable development, helping to meet a recognised need for additional housing in the local area.

The builder added that the proposals include 40 per cent affordable homes of mixed sizes and tenures, together with access, parking, pedestrian and cycle routes and landscaping, as well as 10 per cent net biodiversity gain to support the local wildlife and enhance the natural environment.

Miller Homes has also launched a dedicated website for the development. Residents can give their views on the project and be kept updated on the progress of its proposals via www.miller-sherfield.co.uk.

The deadline for registering feedback on the proposals is Friday, January 21, 2022.

To register for the meeting, email info@miller-sherfield.co.uk and state which session you would like to attend, along with your name and address. The Zoom joining details will be sent to your email in advance of the presentation.
