Firefighters from Basingstoke, Tadley, and Berkshire scrambled to the scene of the derelict property just before 10pm, where they found it to be ‘well alight’.

However, the cause of the incident is as yet unknown and enquiries are being carried out.

Posting to Facebook, a Tadley Fire Station spokesperson said: “At 21:58 last night we were called alongside additional appliances from Basingstoke Fire Station and Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service to a derelict bungalow fire in Tadley. This was well alight on arrival and was extinguished with hosereels and main jets.

“Crews worked hard to stop the fire spreading to adjacent structures. The cause is currently unknown and is under investigation.”
