TRIBUTES have been paid to a 39-year-old Basingstoke mum of seven who died ‘suddenly’ on Christmas Day after reportedly suffering with a urine infection.

Friends of Lisa Cass, who also had two grandchildren, said she became unwell on Christmas Eve and died on Christmas Day morning of a suspected heart attack after going to hospital feeling unwell.

Caroline Hardy, who set up a fundraising page in her memory, said Lisa was being treated for a urinary tract infection (UTI) after going to hospital feeling unwell.

She added: “No family were allowed to visit her due to Covid-19, suddenly Lisa took a turn for the worse and sadly passed away on Christmas Day of a suspected heart attack leaving behind a family she loved so dearly and would do anything for.”

Paying tribute to Lisa, Caroline said: “Lisa was the kindest mother you have ever met, she would do anything to make sure her kids had the best life possible.”

She said Lisa’s children are “lost without their mum” adding: “All they want is to have her back and to be held by her”.

More than £8,000 has so far been raised through two fundraising pages set up since Lisa’s death, which will be given to her fiancé Tony Cook, to pay for her funeral and give her “a send-off that she truly deserves”.

The mum worked for a care agency in Wade Road, Basingstoke which she joined a few months ago.

Posting a statement about her death, J&K Care Specialists said: “Whilst this should be a time of celebration and spending quality time with our loved ones, I have to announce the very sad and sudden passing of one of our staff.”

It added: “Lisa is one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. Always did things for others and never looked at anything in return. Lisa became unwell Christmas Eve and sadly fell asleep on Christmas Day morning.

“Lisa has left behind her partner, seven children and two grandchildren, amongst other family members and her much-loved friends.”

Marie Bresland, who set up the second fundraising page, described her friend as having “the kindest heart and the most loving soul”.

She added: “Anyone who knew Lisa knows her partner Tony, her seven amazing children and her family and friends were her reason for living. She honestly had the kindest heart and the most loving soul.”

Marie described Lisa’s death as the “most tragic loss” and said it was an honour to “be there now and going forward for Tony, her children and grandbabies even if it is by just relieving some of the financial stress”.
