A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of drugs supply after cannabis was found in a series of raids on properties in Winklebury on Monday morning.

Police raided four addresses in Winklebury Centre on Monday morning (December 20), where a large quantity of cash, cannabis and a number of mobile phones were found.

It was in connection with an "ongoing" drugs investigation.

A 30-year-old man, from Basingstoke, has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug of Class B and acquiring, using or possessing criminal property.

He remains in police custody and enquires are ongoing.

Meanwhile, police officers said that a neglected dog was recovered during a search of another property.

"The dog has been taken to a local kennel," the spokesperson added. "Our enquiries are ongoing.

"We would like to thank the local residents for their patience as we completed our enquiries this morning."
