A BASINGSTOKE man threatened to burn down a house in Croydon, a court has been told.

Danny Quigley is accused of threatening to damage a property in Redwing Close, South Croydon.

He is accused of threatening to "smash up the house, cars and burn the house", court documents reveal.

The 31-year-old is further charged with assaulting a man at the address, causing him actual bodily harm.

The offences are said to have taken place on December 4.

Quigley, of Baynard Close in Oakridge, pleaded not guilty to assault occasioning ABH but did not enter a plea to the threat to damage charge at Bromley Magistrates' Court last week, according to court documents.

The case was sent to Croydon Crown Court, where he will appear on January 6.

He has been remanded into custody.
