A CARAVAN fire in Popley on Friday night (December 10) is believed to have been started deliberately, the fire service has revealed.
Basingstoke firefighters were called at 11.42pm on Friday night to a caravan alight on Shakespeare Road.
The vehicle was fully destroyed in the blaze which was extinguished using breathing apparatus and hose reels.
A Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescuye Service spokesperson added: "Crews recovered two cylinders from the scene and removed them to safety.
"Police were informed due to it being believed the fire was set deliberately.
"HIWFRS left the scene at 00:19 on Saturday morning."
Police confirmed that no one was inside the vehicle at the time, and no one was injured.
Haqmpshire Constabulary is asking anyone with information to call 101, citing reference 44210495901.
