A MAN from Basingstoke has been jailed after he assaulted two men in an "unprovoked attack of a serious nature".
James Andrew Bowen, assaulted the two men in the town on November 17, as well as damaging an A frame sign at Anytime Fitness on Alencon Link.
He also admitted using threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderedly behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress, which was racially aggravated.
For the assaults, the man, of Vyne Road, was jailed for a total of eight weeks.
The 29-year-old was further sentenced for a raft of other offences which includes multiple charges of criminal offences following a spate of window smashing incidents.
He admitted damaging glass windows belonging to White House Insurance, Wallis Prance Solicitors and Willows Coffee House on August 31, as well as spitting in a police cell.
The offences happened during the period of a suspended sentence issues by Dorset Magistrates' Court in August, which was dismissed, and a conditional discharge.
Bowen also admitted damaging a window at Tesco on July 14, and another window belonging to a resident on July 15.
He was fined a total of £460 in addition to the prison sentence.
