TWO PEOPLE have been arrested following a drugs raid at a Southampton property.

Police have "smashed" through the door of an address in Millbrook Road East.

Officers seized a quantity of class A drugs following a tip-off concerning drug dealing.

A 30-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman were arrested with investigations underway.

The raid formed part of Operation Fortress which aims to tackle drug-related crime in the city.

A post on the Southampton Cops Facebook page said: "When we receive information about a drug dealer at the address of a vulnerable adult, the Southampton West Neighbourhood Team act. We don’t do subtle. Just abandoned our vehicles, ran into the address and using our big red key we let ourselves in. ‘Shock and Awe’. The two occupants were left slightly stunned when the door was smashed in and the team rushed in shouting, “POLICE!”

At an address in Millbrook Road East, we arrested a 30-year-old male and a 38-year-old female. An amount of class A controlled drugs were recovered. The investigation continues.
