A BUILDER has launched a public consultation for proposals for 186 new homes to the north-east of Basingstoke.
Miller Homes is organising a face-to-face public consultation for the proposed development at land at Sherfield Hill Farm.
The consultation will be held between 2pm and 7pm on Tuesday, December 14, at Sherfield on Loddon Village Hall.
According to Miller Homes, the proposed development would deliver a sustainable development, helping to meet a recognised need for additional housing in the local area.
The builder added that the proposals include 40 per cent affordable homes of mixed sizes and tenures, together with access, parking, pedestrian and cycle routes and landscaping, as well as 10 per cent net biodiversity gain to support the local wildlife and enhance the natural environment.
Mark Jackson, strategic planning director at Miller Homes, said: “We are delighted to present our initial proposals for the site and look forward to hearing the views of the local community prior to submitting a planning application to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.
“Our proposals for Sherfield Hill Farm would make a positive contribution to addressing a local need for more housing, while at the same time delivering exceptionally high-quality and well-designed homes in a sustainable location.”
Miller Homes has also launched a dedicated website for the development. Residents can give their views on the project and be kept updated on the progress of its proposals via www.miller-sherfield.co.uk.
The deadline for registering feedback on the proposals is Friday, January 7, 2022.
