A 38-YEAR-OLD man from Basingstoke has been arrested on suspicion of robbery following an incident in Chineham last week.
Police enquiries are ongoing into an incident at the One Stop store on Guinea Court in Chineham on November 23.
The man remains in custody at this time.
It comes after officers issued an appeal for witnesses and information following two armed robberies in Basingstoke which they believed were linked.
The first incident took place between 9.30pm and 9.37pm on Saturday, November 20.
A man wearing a balaclava entered the One Stop store on Sark Way in Popley and threatened a female cashier with a knife, according to police.
They previously said that the man then stole £101 in cash and made off on foot.
The second incident took place at around 9.40pm on Tuesday, November 23.
A man entered the One Stop store on Guinea Court in Chineham and threatened a staff member with a knife, according to police reports at the time.
The suspect allegedly demanded money from the till and is said to have made off with £257 in cash and 6 x 50g packets of tobacco.
