A Basingstoke man has admitted to assaulting a woman by beating her.

Luisito Joaquin Gonzalez, of Kenilworth Road, assaulted the woman by beating her in Bishopstoke on March 7.

Appearing at West Hampshire Magistrates’ Court on November 29, the 40-year-old changed his plea to guilty, having previously denied the charge.

He has been remanded on bail until January 5, when he will be sentenced at the same court.

A man from Newnham has admitted to drug driving at a fuel station in Basingstoke.

Ben Ross, of Crown Lane, Newnham, was driving at the Texaco forecourt on Aldermaston Road South on January 1, with THC, a type of cannabis, in his system.

Appearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on November 25, the 43-year-old admitted the offence.

The case was adjourned to January 10, 2022, when he will be sentenced at the same court.

A BMW driver will stand trial accused of speeding in Hook earlier this year.

Mariglen Lamellari, of Mitchell Avenue, Hartley Wintney, allegedly drove a BMW along London Road on February 1, above the 40mph limit.

Appearing at Aldershot Magistrates’ Court on November 22, the 28-year-old denied the charge.

He further denied failing to provide his details to Hampshire police on March 3.

The case has been adjourned for trial at the same court on April 13 2022.

The case of a Basingstoke teenager accused of failing to provide driver information to police has been postponed due to Covid-19.

Alessandro Dante Agozzino, of Breach Farm Cottages, is accused of failing to identify the driver of a Ford Fiesta on January 5 2020, when required to do so by police.

The 19-year-old previously denied the charge, however on November 22 it was adjourned by Aldershot Magistrates Court, until February 14 2022, due to “the situation regarding Covid-19”.

A Basingstoke man drove a BMW at more than 100mph along the motorway earlier this year.

Dr Sunil Bhardwaj, of Braddock Court, was travelling along the M3 southbound between junctions 6 and 7 on March 18, driving a BMW M4 at 110mph - when the limit is 70mph.

The 30-year-old was convicted via the single justice procedure on November 24 at Aldershot Magistrates Court.

Due to Covid-related reasons, the case was then adjourned to February 16 2022.

An Audi driver from Bracknell drove his car along the M3 at Basingstoke at more than 100mph.

Niki Bishop, of Winscombe, Bracknell, was driving his vehicle at 130mph - 60mph above the limit of 70 - on March 5, northbound between junctions 7 and 6 of the M3.

The 41-year-old was convicted via the single justice procedure on November 24 at Aldershot Magistrates Court.

Due to Covid-related reasons, the case was then adjourned to February 16 2022.

A man has denied running a red light at a Basingstoke roundabout in September last year.

Adam Benjamin Thorne, of Hazeldene Gardens, Itchen Abbas, Winchester, allegedly drove a lorry at Eastrop roundabout on September 16 2020, and failed to observe a red light signal “lawfully placed on or near the road”.

The 39-year-old denied the charge in December 2020, and was due to appear at Aldershot Magistrates Court on November 24 2021.

However, the case was adjourned due to “the situation regarding Covid-19”.

The case will next be heard at the same court on February 16 2022.
