A Tesco worker from Basingstoke who went viral singing and dancing on TikTok during lockdown last year has landed her dream job in the West End.

Rising to fame, TikTok star Hannah Lowther took a job at Tesco Express during the pandemic, where she posted videos on the app, changing lyrics to popular songs and dancing in the store.

One video that saw the star's views sky rocket was a parody of Dolly Parton’s song 9 To 5. Hannah filmed herself working one of her shifts at the supermarket, the viral video has since got more than 2 million views.

Hannah has reached 450,000 followers on TikTok, while racking up a staggering 14 million likes across her videos.

The 24-year-old has now landed her dream job in Heathers The Musical, as it readies its return later this month.

Hannah told the Gazette: "It feels surreal because its been such a dream. It doesn't feel real. I keep telling myself this is my job now. I wake up and think, 'wow this is what im really doing'".

Speaking on the support she has received, Hannah said: "Everybody has been so lovely following my journey from the start. It's nice to show people you can achieve your dreams.

Management have been super supportive. They've been amazing and I've been offered to go back [to Tesco] if I ever need to."

With Hannah's career taking flight, she plans on focusing on Heathers, while building credits for her CV. "My plan is to do the show and enjoy what im doing and do what I love. It's the first step of my career. I'm also focused on building credits for my CV."

As well as the understudy for two of the lead characters, Hannah is to play New Wave Girl in the musical.

She said: "After such a long time of not doing it and just thinking that I was going to have to get a normal job and I was going to have to go down different routes and try different things.

"It's just given me so much hope and I started rehearsals on Monday. We have just over two weeks of rehearsals and then we open on the 25 November."
