A dad stands to lose his driving job after he was caught over the limit for a cocaine derivative and cannabis.
Matthew Bowles, 39, was tested after a police officer saw the man emerge from a friend’s house in Nightingale Avenue with bloodshot eyes on Tuesday, April 6. He had earlier seen him driving a Vauxhall Mokka in Blackbird Leys.
He was taken to the police station and a blood sample showed he was over the drug driving limit for cannabis and cocaine derivative benzoylecgonine.
Jayne Wilkinson, mitigating, said her client would lose his job as a driver as a result of being banned from the roads. He had three children with his partner of 20 years.
He was remorseful, she said. Bowles would not drink and drive, but had taken drugs the weekend before he was caught by police.
Bowles, of Balfour Road, Oxford, pleaded guilty to two counts of drug driving.
The magistrates fined him £120 and ordered he pay £119 in costs and surcharge. He was given a 12 month driving disqualification.
