A BASINGSTOKE man has denied all charges after being accused of serial flytipping across the town.

Lee Wainwright, of Schubert Road, has been charged with 14 counts of depositing controlled waste.

The counts state he dumped waste at various locations across the Basingstoke and Deane borough, including land at North Oakley, Old Basing, Sherborne St John, Upper Wootton, Oakley, Deane, Chineham, Farleigh Wallop, Ellisfield, Manydown, South Ham, Oakridge, Pack Lane and Brighton Hill over a period from February 2019 to September 2020.

Appearing at Winchester Crown Court today (Wednesday, October 13) the 37-year-old pleaded not guilty to all 14 counts.

He will stand trial at Salisbury Crown Court on January 4.

Addressing the defendant, Judge Susan Evans QC said: “I am going to adjourn your case, Mr Wainwright, for a trial on January 4. If you do not turn up, that is a separate offence, and your trial will take place in your absence.”

He remains on unconditional bail.
